Afternoon people! Told you I would be back soon with another exciting never to be missed blog so here I’am WooHoo. Well It’s the middle of the week when everyone goes “Argh” but not me I love my job! Well where are we? Well I seem to be on a roll at the moment with making new designs, The only problem now is the weather! I like to take my photo’s out in the natural light but it sure has been blustery these last few days, Just as I thought the weather was changing for the better with March coming round it strikes back and bites you in the you know what. Well a little while ago we made a new necklace, The “Entwined” necklace which we made with Rose gold, Gold fill and sterling silver well it’s become a real hit with you girls and sales have been great so due to those facts we decided to make matching earrings! It’s the same principle but we have added them onto some beautiful hoop earrings which I think you all would agree look fab. I love the fact we have mixed precious metals together, It just looks so striking and unique which is what we try to do, Give you something different. So hopefully you folks will like these earrings just as much as the necklace and keep us in business lol.  As you can see in the photographs the hoops are a lovely thick size and the diameter of them is 25mm so will definitely catch your eye. The actual bead is carefully hand weaved and woven by me or my wife so like all our work it is made to order but if you want a matching pair best get them from my wife! Only joking my weaving skills are above and beyond (nothing like blowing your own trumpet) as you can see in the photo’s. Welcome Back! Or should I say “bon retour parmi nous” That’s right just give it another week or so and I might actually have a sentence or two for you! Well the day has been and gone yes that’s right I’m talking about Valentine’s Day. All of us guys are letting out a big sigh of relief, come on now admit it your glad it’s only one day and it’s over with, Well for another year anyway lol. So where are we, Well it’s half term again! So having to entertain the little people, Well that’s why we have Xmas so Santa can bring them a playstation I guess, So just jumping on the computer for a bit just for you guys. Well it only seems like 5 minutes since the little people were last off, Did I ever get this amount of holidays when I was a little person? So enough with the waffle I hear you say, So I’m here to inform you about our new sterling silver heart and gold filled infinity necklace which is a lovely handcrafted piece of jewellery made by us for you. As you can see it has great meaning with the shapes used and would make a lovely gift for someone you hold dear to your heart. So first of all we make the infinity symbol from either 14k Gold fill or Rose gold, This can go wrong very quickly due to this necklace being about bends and it did drive me round a few while trying to make it! It may look simple but believe me it can be a trifle difficult as you have to get all your bends smooth and in the right place. Once we have this nice and correct and not forgetting equal then solder it together. Then take your sterling silver wire and start to make the heart but before you bend the top parts fit the infinity symbol till it sits against the silver making sure its straight and then you can finish the top bends of the heart, once your happy it’s all straight and smooth in the bends then solder the middle of the heart together and Bing Bong Boo you have yourself a unique lovey- dovey necklace, Well we do! Shall have to add it to the BJA copywrite office lol. So after the hard work of cleaning, Polishing and then taking some photo’s of course and then not forgetting the actual process of making it as well which now I think about it, It’s a little bit harder than I make out!. So now that we have deduced that lets move on! Once made we decided not to solder a loop in the center of the heart but instead thought we would like to hang it by jump rings which makes the difference to the overall look. Now we love using this belcher chain which we have used on this necklace and others, Basically because it’s gives the delicate look but it’s very strong. So overall we love this piece and we hope you guys will to. Join us next time when I’m not quite sure what I will be blogging about but I’m sure it will be another IndiviJewel! So here we are again, Happy New year to you all, little bit late to say the least I know but it’s the thought that counts right? Well With the end of January already here upon us we have a lot of new products in the pipeline and some ready to go. So here we have our new personalised  bar necklace to tell you all about.  For such a simple design it’s also a very modern, minimalist and elegant one. As you can see in the photo’s you can have a lot of variation with regards to the text and layout, also this type of design is great for personalisation as you have a bit of room front and back for the text or images.  So on this particular piece we went for a sleek shape which is cut from a  nice thick 1.2mm sterling silver sheet and we have used a standard size and shape but we can alter this if anyone wants to have something a little different  just email or phone us or maybe even a carrier pigeon if you wish!  As you can see we have used different fonts and types of text you can have so potential customers have an idea of what they can add, No stone left unturned here to help you guys decide what you need. As well as the horizontal design we have also given the choice to have it vertical  (Yes I know we are just to good to you guys) which gives a whole different look to the same shaped piece. Both the necklaces are hanging from a lovely sterling silver belcher chain, Very strong but gives it that subtle look to keep in with the design. This necklace is one of those pieces that never goes out of fashion no matter what decade you like to be in so it’s great for any occasion. OK so two posts in two days, Whats going on I hear you say! Well I’m at home today as the little one doesn’t go nursery on Wednesdays so while he’s playing Scooby Doo I thought I would grab my chance to jump on the computer and do a little much needed work as ever. Now I very much doubt I will finish this post today but here’s hoping. Now another new product we have recently made is our range of personalised charm necklaces for girls, This has been on our to do list for some time so we are very relieved to have it finished and just in time for Xmas. For those of you that don’t no we now have the tools to make our own shapes now so they can be unique to us to which we think will help us grow the business as we become even more unique to potential customers. So for our first batch of shapes we went for the more well known ones, Heart, Star, Flower, Angel Wing and a butterfly but I do have a few more I would like to make but lets just concentrate on these ones, I do have a tendency to think to far ahead! So once we had decided on the shapes of these charms we cut them out and personalised them with an initial, added a sterling silver belcher chain and hey-ho a lovely cute personalised girls necklace which makes a lovely gift for numerous occasions such as Birthdays,Weddings, And christenings. We have also given you the option of adding a beautiful gemstone, Yes that’s right a real graded gemstone not some awful looking bead that you see elsewhere to add to the quality and the overall elegance of the necklace because that’s how we like to roll lol. Now as usual it’s not as easy as that a lot of hard work goes on before we send them out such as the hand polishing of these small charms which isn’t easy as some of you will know. I’m just in the process of making pearl necklaces with these charms, It’s amazing how many ideas you can make out of one design but they will be for another day. OK so it has only taken me a few hours to write these few words! But I’m happy I got it finished today lol so I’m off to play Indiana Jones with the little one, Till the next blog.

Well here we are again! I actually started writing this blog a couple of weeks ago when the kids were off on half term but that’s what happens when the kids are off, Yes that’s right nothing!, Although we did have a great super Mario games week but the blog got well forgotten. Right so onto our new product, This is new ground for us as this is our first necklace for men and its even personalised!  Making  jewellery for guys is really difficult, it just is, I should know I  am one.  Well I love wearing mine and I like to think I have good taste in fashion in general so I like to think a few others will share my views and maybe buy one.   We really wanted to design something a little different from the rest, so the Personalized Secret Message Triangle was born! Now it starts off the same as the Secret Heart and the Teardrop necklaces in that we etch the text onto sterling silver sheet which is 0.7mm thick and cut it out and then the hard work begins! We firstly have to drill the holes and then shape the silver into a triangle, we can sometimes be easier said than done as if you don’t get the measurements and bends accurate the first time round, you can end up with a rather wonky triangle!  So once it’s a nice even, straight triangle shape, we solder the ends and then file them to make the join invisible.  Then onto the rather boring, but critical, filing and hand polishing to achieve  a beautiful shine and then into the tumbler for a few hours to harden it up.  Again it may look and sound simple but a lot of time and hard work goes into making one of these fine necklaces. It actually gets better as you have ten fonts yes that’s right ten fonts to choose from. So if your looking for a unique present this Christmas for the man in your life then why not give them a wonderful personal keepsake. Oh nearly forgot you can have it on Greek leather cord or a sterling silver chain. Well what a right dreary day I woke up to this morning, Typical as I’m just building the kids a playhouse! So today’s big news I see is we are all one big happy Island nation again (Sarcasm) OK so I’m beginning to get my routine back now I have a clear path of where we need to be. So lets waffle on about our new Rose Gold Necklace Now I’ve probably said it numerous times in previous blogs but we have got new design’s for the “Birds Nest” range and we still intend to make them but we have conjured up a alternative style, Something a little different. Now it may appear to be a simple design but until you have tried to hand wrap one its a lot trickier than it looks. OK what is simple is to describe how we made it, So we hand wrapped the Rose Gold into an oval shape but we like to be a bit more dramatic and call it a “Tornado or Whirlwind” shape, Now this necklace is all about the shape because it narrows on both sides you have to be as close as possible or it would just look like spaghetti junction! And that about concludes your lesson on how to make one, Please I know I’m just to good to you all. Rose Gold seems to be the trend at the moment so we thought we would join in too, This being the first design of a few I hope so need to get my pencil and pad out and get cracking with some others. Well here we are at our new home, Its been some journey but here at last can’t tell you how glad to have this off our work load! We can get to work filling the site with our new pieces of jewellery. We had a big input into how it turned out and are very happy and very pleased with the end product, We wanted it to be vintage in its looks but have some life to It, Like a new retro – Vibrant, Colourful but at the same time it still has the vintage look and feel to it which we were looking for. Now comes the hard and boring part moving across all our products and having to photograph new pictures for this website! We hope our customers have a great experience looking on the new IndiviJewels and its ease of use. So here’s a big thanks to Peter at c2  for having the patience in dealing with us. Now for our first post about what we have made I would like to add this love story, We had a customer from Australia contact us about making her partner a pair of initial oval cufflinks. The story behind it goes like this – They met in Europe but only after they had bumped into each other in three cities – London, Lucerne and Mykonos without actually realizing it until they met afterwards. We were chosen to make a treasured keepsake for the man in her life to remember those days with an anniversary gift. We hope when he puts them on he smiles and remembers the happy memories. We just love the stories behind our jewellery because its not just a business for us its about your stories.

Well it’s been a sad and tough last couple of weeks for us, We have had a couple of family bereavements one of which was our beloved fur-baby Broxi who was suddenly taken from us. We have had some great times over the last 12 years home and abroad and the workplace feels very empty without him. So we haven’t being making much over the last couple of weeks as you can image but we have got our new Mother’s Day personalised pearl necklace on the website, It’s a couple of weeks overdue to the above mentioned but sometimes work isn’t the most important aspects of life when it really comes down to it. It’s nice to see the nights getting lighter and a little bit more sunshine to boot, It makes you feel a little bit more happier. Anywho back to work we decided to go for more of a tradition necklace with this design and you cannot get more traditional than a pearl necklace! Of course we added a modern twist to the design with some personalisation.  The pearls we used were 5.5-6mm and are a  light cream colour, The quality is  AA+  and they have a lovely lustre to them making them a wonderful starting componant  for a new design. We added some sterling silver ball spacers between the pearls, It  gives it that more elegant and classy look we feel, We do this with all our pearl range, It just adds something extra to it. Now the heart we cut measures 1.8cm wide by 2.5 high and is a nice sturdy 1.2mm thick, Because we cut our own shapes and sizes we can make the heart bigger if required but for what text we were using we decided on this size. There is so many personalised bits of jewellery out their that we wanted to design something a little different to your bog standard “Mum” centered on a heart. So we came up with idea of having “Mum” at a funky angle, It looks great, Something different but it did leave a big space on the heart so we thought about adding an image and the first one we thought of  was a Rose as it goes hand in hand with Mother’s day really. Looking at adding other images at some point but we will just add that to the job list at the mo. On the reverse of the heart is where you can add your personal text, Depending on how much text someone wants we have the option of cutting  the heart bigger but that’s a good thing! Flexibility that’s one of our main strengths. Overall this really does make a unique necklace, It has elegance,Class,Love all rolled into one necklace but if you would rather have something a little more subtle then we do offer this in a more simple design with it just on a sterling silver chain of which you have two choices, Trace chain or a Snake chain. Already I have a few new ideas for this design just from writing this blog, So onto the next challenge! Not sure what idea to start next but that’s all part of the adventure.

So onto our new necklace, We have been thinking hard to what we could add to our secrets range, something different, something new and exciting, something unique that’s how we like to roll – being different! So out of the ideas we had written down we decided on the Teardrop! I know the teardrop is not new but tears are used everyday in real life for a variation of reasons, Laughter, Joy, Love, Saddness so we thought that a tear is just as meaningful as a heart so we thought for the first addition to the secrets range we thought this went hand in hand with the secret heart range. Now to start with we cut out the length of sterling silver we needed for this one with the text we were going to use but like the secret heart you can have it smaller or bigger depending on the size of your text. So the next step was to etch the text onto the silver which if any of you know takes a little time but well worth it for the results. Now the next bit is the tricky part, Trying to shape it! I have a little scrap heap pile going on in the workshop. Now it may look a simple shape but it does take a little bit of time to achive this especially as its all made by hand, Any little wrong bend takes the whole piece go off course and it’s start again to which I have the evidence on my work bench. Doesn’t help when you have no patience like me and try to rush things! Once the shape is right the next step is to solder the two ends together which again sounds simple but what you don’t want to happen is for the solder to drop off and go in your text as this also adds to the scrap pile, Yes this also happened! but like the old saying goes you learn by your mistakes. As you can see by the picture we soldered it a fair way down the design just before the bend comes into play and there is two reasons for this. The first is that it gives it a lot more solid look from the top of the teardrop to make it more visual and basically gives it more definition and a more tear like shape. The second point is you need the soldered ends to be very solid so when you drill your hole for the chain it will not come apart – very important lol. Now the hole is a simple part to this necklace but it’s where you drill it that makes the difference, We could have drilled it right at the top so it gives it a longer look but we thought it looked best drilled half way down the join, Just gives it a more classy look with the top of the drop above the snake chain. The last two steps are to give it a damm good hand polish and bung it in the tumbler for an hour or so and there you have it a Personalised sterling silver teardrop shaped necklace. Now on to the next piece!

Personalised cufflinks! All the rage at the moment so we thought we would add our new personalised Tie shaped cufflinks to the mix! With Christmas round the corner we have been working on a range of  Tie shaped mens accessories which include our new personalised Tie shaped collar stiffeners and our new personalised Tie shaped Tie slide.  We thought this would be a refreshing new design to offer potential customers who seem to have the choice of the same style of cufflink offered by anyone and everyone due to the fact that everybody jumps on the band wagon and just copies designers work (Like us) I have to admit it really gets under my skin these people who call themselves “jewellery designers” when infact all they do is copy other people’s hard work. Anyway we offer these cufflinks in two fonts at thre moment, A children’s handwriting and a more elegant font but are looking to sell these with the customers handwriting (Signature cufflinks) as having checked out other companies offering this option and they are completely ripping people off in my opinion so we feel we will offer a better quality of product and a better service for a much better price.
